Problem: My goal was to make a next generation technology that bridges the gap between ambient intelligence of the present and the future without invasion of privacy.
Concept: Que is an interactive environment designed to bring personality and functionality into public spaces. The Internet is an example of a rich interactive space where a person can be researching latest news and then shop for latest technological devices. Unfortunately the Internet is in cyberspace, and not in our physical world; however, with Que we will be able to incorporate the same level of interactivity of the Internet into our everyday lives.
Based in a shopping mall, Que uses radio frequency identification (RFID) technology to learn from shoppers’ experiences. Que will adapt to individual needs and styles as shoppers learn to use the system. The possibilities of Que are endless: find information about products before purchasing, read and write reviews, keep friends and family safe in the mall with a child tracking system, send and receive messages, create wish lists and then send them to your friends, etc. Within a public environment, Que allows individuals to create a unique personal identity.
